Abstract:

To prevent occurrence of rapid combustion in starting combustion operation of a regenerative type burner during heat storage operation when combustion operation and heat storage operation in a pair of regenerative type burners are alternately changed over.

In a regenerative combustion type heat treatment furnace 10 for supplying a certain quantity of fuel gas from a fuel gas supply device 30 to fuel gas supply pipes 28a, 28b in regenerative type burners 20a, 20b, when combustion operation and heat storage operation in the pair of regenerative type burners are alternately changed over, fuel gas and burning air are supplied to the regenerative type burner 20b during the heat storage operation through the fuel gas supply pipe 28b and an air supply pipe 24b before reducing the quantities of the fuel gas and the burning air to be supplied through the fuel gas supply pipe 28a and an air supply pipe 24a in the regenerative type burner 20a during the combustion operation, and the combustion of the regenerative type burner 20b is started.
