Abstract:
To provide a method for controlling the degree of branching of a desirable oligomer product when the oligomer product is used for specific purposes, particularly, when the oligomer product is used as a starting material of alcohol for a specific plasticizer or detergent.
An olefinic feedstock containing 1-100 vol. ppm sulfur compound is brought into contact with a catalyst containing at least one crystalline molecular sieve selected from sieves having TON structure type (typically ZSM-22) and MFS structure types (typically ZSM-57) under oligomerization conditions.
