Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably stop the rotation of a motor at any time during a short period irrespective of the environment in which the motor is used by correcting the impressing time of the braking signal in accordance with the detected power source voltage and temperature.
SOLUTION: In the case of ejecting an optical disk, a MPU:3 impresses the braking signal which impresses the current that reverses the spindle motor 2 on wirings U, V, W on the spindle motor control IC: 1. In older to determine the sustaining time of impressing this braking signal, the MPU:3 catches the output signal of the A/D converter 5 which is inputted with a fraction of the power source voltage Vcc and the output signal of the A/D converter 6 which is inputted with the signal of a temperature sensor. The MPU:3 corrects the braking time at the normal power source voltage 5V and the normal temperature 25°C held in memory 4 using the present power source voltage and the present temperature. Thereby, the motor is exactly suspended in a short time without detecting the rotational speed of the motor.
