Abstract:

To provide a simpler detection system by reducing types of nucleic acid materials necessary for the detection in detecting a target nucleic acid containing mutation which is not a discrimination object.

The method for detecting the target nucleic acid comprises: a process for preparing a nucleic acid amplification solution containing a nucleic acid primer, which has a complementary sequence domain in a first base sequence of the target nucleic acid containing the first base sequence having a base mutation which is not the discrimination object except at a site corresponding to the base mutation, and in which an abasic nucleotide is arranged at a site corresponding to the base mutation; a process for adding a specimen having possibility of presence of the target nucleic acid to the nucleic acid amplification solution; a process for carrying out an amplification reaction using the nucleic acid amplification solution having added with the specimen; and a process for deciding the presence or absence of the first base sequence or that of the mutation except the base mutation present in the base sequence domain.
