PURPOSE: To determine physical property by measuring the absorbance of a specific frequency for a constituent using an IR spectrometer and calculating the property to be obtained of a product from a mixed index obtained by applying a correlation for a measurement value by applying a specific expression.
CONSTITUTION: An IR spectrometer is used and an absorbance at a constant frequency within a spectrum range of 16,667-3,840cm-1 for a constituent or an arbitrary mixture starting from a base line equivalent to zero absorbance is measured. By applying correlation for a measured absorbance value, a vector index (SMI)JI is determined for constituent I and each property J. It is experimentally determined based on the type of the spectrometer using the correlation, property to be obtained, and frequency used. Then, the property J to be obtained of a product is calculated by applying a primary expression indicated by an expression. Each term of the expression is the product between spectrum mixed index SMIa,... and a volume part fa,... of the constituent. In this manner, the constituent can determine the physical property of an arbitrary mixture.
