Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a hung object attitude control device using a gyroscope which can generate a horizontal revolving force even in the condition that the revolutional load of a hung object exceeds the max. allowable load.
CONSTITUTION: A hung object attitude control device is equipped with a hanging jig 4 made from an H-steel hung in the horizontal attitude, a gyro-frame 6 fixed by a bolt to the central bottom of the jig, gimbal frame 8 rotatable round a rotary shaft within the gyro-frame 6, and a flywheel 10 capable of spinning round a spin shaft 9 within the gimbal frame 8. Within the gyro-frame 6, a pair of stoppers 13, 13 are fixed which restrict the rotating range of the gimbal frame 8. The stoppers 13 are positioned so that the spin shaft 9 of the flywheel 10 is allowed to rotate only in the ranges 45 deg. to the left and rigft from a horizontal axis within a plumb plane in which the rotary shaft of the gimbal frame 8 lies at the zero in the coordinates.
