PURPOSE: To reduce the generation of oxide as little as possible and to execute a hole opening work as quick and safe as possible by reducing the consumption of oxygen as little as possible at the time of opening the hole with an oxygen lance.
CONSTITUTION: This device is composed of an upper vessel 1 for storing molten metal, a pouring nozzle 2 communication-connected with the bottom part of the upper vessel 1 and providing a flowing passage opening/closing means 22, a pouring tube 5 connected with the lower end part of the pouring nozzle 2, a lower vessel 3 for storing the molten metal flowing down the pouring nozzle 2 and the pouring tube 5 and a combustible plugging material 4 beforehand plugged at the upper part from the flowing passage opening/closing means 22 in the pouring nozzle 2. In the hole opening method to a molten metal pouring structure for executing the hole-opening by blowing oxygen- containing gas introduced in the pouring tube 5, near the lower surface of the combustible plugging material 4 to ignition-burn and burn down the combustible plugging material 4, an oxygen-containing gas blowing means 6 is extended toward the combustion surface of the combustible plugging material 4 matching to the burning-down of the combustible plugging material 4.
