To provide a method for drying laundry cleaned by a combustible solvent.

A drying machine is filled with inert gas 10 after pressure in the drying machine 1 containing therein laundry cleaned by a combustible solvent is reduced by a vacuum pump 6 to reduce the concentration of oxygen in the drying machine 1, and further the pressure in the drying machine is reduced by the vacuum pump 6 to reduce the amount of oxygen in the drying machine 1. Thereafter, air in the drying machine is heated to dry the laundry and while the air in the drying machine 1 is transferred to a condenser 4 by a blower 3 to condensed and recover the gasified combustible solvent and moisture so that the air passing through the condenser 4 is sent again to the drying machine 1 and heated in the drying machine 1 to dry the laundry.
