PURPOSE: To provide a new method for drying a paper web having high running performance and dryer section.
CONSTITUTION: A paper web W is introduced from a group R1-RN; RS of a single-wire draw as a closed draw to the next group and is guided by a reversing suction cylinder 11 having about 250-1000 mm curve radius D2/2 at the side of the outside curve on a drying wire 15. The paper web W at the side of the outside curve is kept in constant contact with the drying wire 15 against the effect of the centrifugal forces by a pressure difference which preferably is extended over the entire inner periphery of the reversing suction cylinder 11. In addition to the above, or as an alternative, the paper web W is dried from the side of its upper face on a draw W1 of the paper web W which is free from the wire 15 and/or a drying air flow is blown through the drying wire 15 onto the upper face of the paper web W and/or onto the draw W1 of the paper web W which is free from the wire 15.
