Abstract:

PURPOSE: To evaluate hardness of ultraviolet-ray setting resin which is used as a protective coating material or the like for an optical fiber easily in a short time and with high accuracy.
CONSTITUTION: Ultraviolet-rays are applied to unhardened ultraviolet-ray setting resin to obtain a heat generation curve due to photopolymerization, and this curve is integrated to calculate an entire calorific value and a partial calorific value to optional time. Hardness of the ultraviolet-ray setting resin is evaluated from a change of a ratio of the entire calorific value and the partial calorific value with respect to application time.
