METHOD FOR EXTRACTING FIBER FROM ABACA, FIBER OF ABACA AND WOVEN FABRIC

To provide a new fiber of abaca usable for a cloth of Natuoshima-tsumugi (a kind of Japanese cloth) or the like, having an ultrafine size and a strong strength and hardly causing breaking by fermenting and extracting the fiber from the abaca, opening the resultant fiber, and spinning the product; and to provide a moisture-absorbing and moisture permeable woven fabric of the fiber.

The method for extracting the fiber from the abaca by fermenting the abaca is newly developed, and the fiber-woven fabric is formed by opening the fiber of the abaca, and forming a yarn of the abaca by a spinning machine from the opened fiber. The opened fiber of the abaca having a long length is obtained by classifying the skin of the abaca, crushing the succulent cells between the fibers of the skin, untying the bunches of the fibers by fermentation, and washing and extracting the fibers. The fiber can be blended with a natural fiber or the like. The knitted and/or woven fabric includes the fiber of the abaca.
