Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable heat treatment for steel material of plural kinds of different C contents simultaneously without developing decarbonization and carburization.
CONSTITUTION: Atmospheric gas containing N2 as the main component and a small quantity of CO or CO+H2 is fed into a heating furnace, and during raising temp. of the steel materials to 700°C, composition of an atmospheric gas is controlled so as to satisfy the following conditions, 1 to 4% CO, ≤0.15% CO2, 0 to 4% H2, ≤-20°C dew point and PF:{(%CO)2/(%CO2)}=50 to 250. Under securing this condition, the steel materials are heated to the prescribed temp. exceeding 700°C for heat treatment.
