To provide a method for effectively heating a wet paper web with decreased energy consumption, a heating apparatus and a paper machine.
The method and apparatus for heating a wet paper web comprise the heating of a wet paper web traveling together with a carrier member of a paper machine by a hot gas. Three or more chambers are alternately placed at one surface side and the other surface side of the wet paper web successively in the traveling direction of the paper, and the hot gas is supplied to the chamber at an end of the successively placed multiple chambers and discharged from the chamber of the other end to pass the hot gas through the wet paper and successively introduce into the multiple chambers to reduce the pressure in the chamber successively from the introducing chamber to the discharging chamber. The hot gas is passed through the wet paper web twice or more to heat the paper twice or more with the hot gas. Accordingly the heating efficiency and the wet paper drying efficiency are remarkably improved to enable the effective heating and drying of the wet paper with decreased energy consumption. The paper machine is provided with the heating apparatus of wet paper web described above.
