To provide a method of installing a sensor to a heating furnace capable of installing the sensor in the heating furnace in a short time at low costs.
A furnace wall 10 of an annealing furnace is composed of an inner metallic plate 11 disposed inside of the furnace, an outer metallic plate 12 disposed outside of the furnace, and a refractory 13 disposed between both metallic plates 11, 12. A through hole 15 communicating the inside and outside of the furnace is formed on the furnace wall 10, and a cylindrical member 21 provided with a refractory material 25 is inserted between an inner flange section 23A and an outer flange section 23B from the outside of the furnace. Then the outer flange section 23B is joined to the outer metallic plate 12 by a commonly-used fixing means such as welding to seal the through hole 15, and then the sensor 20 is received inside of the cylindrical member 21.
