Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing an electrode stack for an electric double layer capacitor, which surely prevents offset between polarized electrodes owing to little gap made between the polarized electrode and a separator, and thus prevents such a defect such as separation of the polarized electrodes from a collector.

The method is provided for manufacturing the electrode stack for an electric double layer capacitor wherein a plurality of assemblies are stacked, each consisting of the polarized electrode and the separator sandwiching the polarized electrode. The method comprises steps of placing the polarized electrode perpendicularly to a surface of the separator, bringing the polarized electrode into contact with the separator along its folding line, and gradually crimping the separator onto both entire surfaces of the polarized electrode starting from the folding line of the separator to have the polarized electrode sandwiched in the separator.
