Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing an ingot capable of suppressing generation of cast defects and of manufacturing a large sound ingot, and also to provide a cold crucible induction melting device.

In the method for manufacturing the ingot 6 by pulling out a crucible bottom 1 downward while supplying a melting raw material 3 with a CCIM method, the ingot 6 is manufactured by allowing height dimension of a high-frequency coil 4 to be 0.5-0.8 times of an inner diameter dimension of a water-cooled copper crucible 2. In the cold crucible induction melting device A for manufacturing the ingot 6, the height dimension of the high-frequency coil 4 is made to be 0.5-0.8 times of the inner diameter dimension of the water-cooled copper crucible 2.
