To provide a method of manufacturing a swash plate 5 with a high productivity, and also provide a method of manufacturing the swash plate 5 in which the thicknesses of sintered alloy layers 3 and 4 are uniformized.

First, a bearing metal sintered plate 1 is manufactured by forming sintered alloy layers 3 and 4 on both surfaces of a body part 2. Next, a disk 10 of a specified dimension is punched out from the bearing metal sintered plate 1 by punching. By this, the manufacture of the disk-like swash plate 5 having the sintered alloy layers 3 and 4 on both surfaces thereof is completed. In a method of cutting out the bearing metal sintered plate 1 into a disk shape, laser cutting or water-jet cutting may be used.
