Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare a gaseous mixture contg. a constant concn. of oxygen by supplying an oxygen-contg. gaseous mixture at a constant flow rate to the gas chamber of an electrochemical cell and controlling the current value of the DC to be flowed to the cell.

CONSTITUTION: In an electrochemical cell using a gas diffusion electrode as the cathode 1, an oxygen generating electrode as the anode 2 and caustic alkali or the like as an electrolyte, air or other oxygen-contg. gaseous mixture is supplied through the inlet of the gas chamber 5 behind the cathode 1, and the current value of the DC to be flowed to the cell is controlled. In this way, the gaseous mixture contg. a constant concn. of oxygen is obtained. It is possible to prepare a constant oxygen concn. of the gaseous mixture in this way.
