PURPOSE: To improve working efficiency and save energy by partitioning the front part of a pusher zone with a retainer slide and a cutting slide until a pusher load reaches a defined value to provide preliminary compression, in an iron group scrap disposing equipment.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of starting, a scrap retainer slide 21 and a cutting slide 22 are lowered, to partition the front part of a pusher zone. Then, after pushing in scrap in the pusher zone 7, a pusher cylinder is started and the pusher is continuously advanced, to sufficiently compress the scrap. When the scrap is compressed sufficiently, the pusher is temporarily stopped by operating a pressure switch 38, and a retainer cylinder 23 and a cutting cylinder 24 are driven to elevate the retainer slide 21 and the cutting slide 22. And, then, after advancing the pusher by a certain amount, the scrap is held 21 and cut off 22. This construction improves efficiently while save energy.
