Abstract:
To preferentially synthesize antimicrobial trans 4-methylthio-3-butenylisothiocyanate.
This method for producing 4-methylthio-3-butenylisothiocyanate comprises producing a carbon atom-halogen atom bond on a methylthio group-bound carbon atom of a 4-methylthiobutylisocyanate [compound (III)] to produce a 4-halogeno-4-methylthiobutylisothiocynate [compound (II)], and then releasing a hydrogen halide to preferentially synthesize the trans 4-methylthio-3-butenylisothiocyanate [compound (I)] of the target compound.
