To provide a method for producing an alkylbenzene hydroperoxide by using an alkylbenzene as a starting material and oxidizing with an oxygen-containing gas, and having excellent effects of capable of obtaining the alkylbenzene hydroperoxide at a high yield and reducing the amount of discharged water.
This method for producing the alkylbenzene hydroperoxide is provided with that an aqueous alkaline solution to be supplied to its oxidation reaction vessel, consists of fresh aqueous alkaline solution and recovered aqueous solution from its oxidation process and the supplying ratio of the fresh aqueous alkaline solution to the recovered aqueous solution is ≤0.2 (weight ratio). As the alkylbenzene, ethylbenzene, isopropylbenzene, sec-butylbenzene, isopropylmethylbenzene, diisopropylbenzene, etc., can be cited.
