To provide a method for producing calcium-doped barium titanate which is a superfine particle having an average particle diameter of ≤1 μm, spherical, good in crystallinity, and excellent in dispersibility when it is used for preparing slurry or paste, has a narrow particle size distribution and ferroelectricity, and sufficiently satisfies such a property that the sintering property is good, and in which the atomic ratios of Ca, Ba and Ti can be controlled with good precision.
Aqueous solutions of a titanium compound, a barium compound and a calcium compound are each prepared. Then the aqueous solutions of respective compounds are brought into contact with one another in an aqueous alkali solution without mixing the aqueous solution of the titanium compound with the aqueous solutions of the barium compound and the titanium compound before adding them into the aqueous alkali solution.
