To provide a method for producing a chopped fiber bundle and a molding material, which has good impregnating ability, fluidity and followability in molding when used as a molding material, and exhibits excellent dynamic properties when formed into fiber-reinforced plastic, and to provide a molding material and fiber-reinforced plastics both obtained by using the chopped fiber bundle.
The method for producing chopped fiber bundle and a molding material includes continuously supplying a fiber bundle at a predetermined angle between a pair of rollers, at least one of which rollers is in a direction parallel with the rotation axis of the one roller and has blades arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the one roller, and cutting the fiber bundle to have a predetermined fiber length by bringing the blades attached on the one roller into contact with the receiving part of the other roller of the roller, and the molding material and the fiber-reinforced plastic are obtained by using the chopped fiber bundle.
