Abstract:
To provide a method for producing cocoon protein solution and a method for producing solid cocoon protein in which a cocoon is directly melted without reducing the molecular weight of fibroin to obtain cocoon protein solution containing fibroin and sericin.SOLUTION: A method for producing cocoon protein solution includes: a first process of melting a dry cocoon in solution containing calcium chloride and ethanol and water to obtain first cocoon protein solution at the melting temperature of 20°C or higher and 120°C or lower; and a second process of removing calcium chloride from first cocoon protein solution to obtain second cocoon protein solution. Furthermore, a method for producing solid cocoon protein includes a third process of removing ethanol and water from second cocoon protein solution to obtain solid cocoon protein.SELECTED DRAWING: None
