Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a copolymerization polyester composition which suppresses reduction in a molecular weight of a polyethylene glycol component in a copolymerization polyester composition caused in a polycondensation reaction, and has high moisture absorption characteristics while keeping excellent characteristics inherent to polyester.SOLUTION: A method for producing a copolymerization polyester composition produced by a polycondensation reaction of aromatic dicarboxylic acid or its ester formative derivative, diol or its ester formative derivative, and polyethylene glycol includes: adding 6-25 wt.%, 150-500 ppm in terms of a metal atom, of Group 14 metal compound to a composition from which polyethylene glycol having a number average molecular weight of 7,000-20,000 is obtained, and determining a molecular weight retention rate of the polyethylene glycol to 70% or more, moisture absorption characteristics ΔMR to 1.0-10.0.
