Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a crosslinked polyester fiber for a brush that is excellent in resistance to an organic solvent, to provide a crosslinked polyester fiber for a brush and to provide a brush using the fiber in order to solve the problem that a polyester fiber is inferior to natural fiber in resistance to an organic solvent and therefore when used, for example, in a paint brush, stiffness of the brush becomes weakened due to poor durability.SOLUTION: The method for producing a crosslinked polyester fiber for a brush includes a sharpening step of sharpening a tip of a polyester fiber for a brush and an electron beam irradiation step of irradiating the polyester fiber for a brush after the sharpening step with electron beams and in the method, the sharpening step and the electron beam irradiation step are performed in this order. As a second invention, the method further includes an impregnation step of impregnating a compound having two or more unsaturated bonds into the polyester fiber for a brush after the sharpening step and in the method, the sharpening step, the impregnation step and the electron beam irradiation step are performed in this order.SELECTED DRAWING: None
