Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently crystallizing an amorphous aromatic polycarbonate having an intrinsic viscosity of higher than 0.38 to 0.5, and a solid-state polymerization method using the same.
SOLUTION: The method for producing a crystallized aromatic polycarbonate comprises bringing an amorphous aromatic polycarbonate having a repeating unit to be represented by a specific chemical structure and an intrinsic viscosity of higher than 0.38 to 0.5 into contact with a mixed liquid or a mixed vapor of a heated monohydroxy compound and water to effect crystallization while effecting depolymerization.
