Abstract:

To provide a method for producing an ester compound in a short reaction time compared with conventional methods.

The ester compound is produced by continuously reacting a compound having a carbonyl group, one or more kinds of metallic compounds, an aldehyde compound and an oxygen-containing gas. The continuous reaction is preferably carried out by using a flow reactor 1. Preferably, the flow reactor 1 is provided with a liquid mixer 21, a gas-liquid mixer 22, and a flow channel 23 for passing the raw materials supplied from the mixers 21, 22. Preferably, the equivalent diameter of one reacting flow channel 23 is 1-50,000μm, the reaction temperature is 0-200°C, the amount of the metallic compound is ≤5 mol% based on the compound having the carbonyl group, the reaction time is ≤10 min, and the gas/liquid volume ratio is ≥10 at the charged time (near the supplying port of the flow channel 23) when calculated in terms of normal pressure.
