Abstract:

To provide a method for producing a fluorinated purine nucleoside derivative, by which the 3-position (preferably the α-position) is economically and efficiently fluorinated and which is suitable for industrial production.

This method for producing the fluorinated purine nucleoside derivative comprises fluorinating a new 5'-protected 8,2'-anhydro-8-mercapto-9-arabinofuranosylpurine derivative to produce the new 3'-fluorinated 8,2'-anhydro-3'-deoxy-3'-fluoro-8-mercapto-9-β-arabinofuranosylpurine derivative (2) in a high yield, and further applying a desulfurizing process, the deprotection of R1 or, if necessary, the deprotection, protection and modification of the nucleic acid base, whereby the desired 3'-fluorinated purine nucleoside derivative can easily be synthesized.
