To provide a method for producing offset printing paper, capable of suitably preventing formation of a curl of the paper after printed, without being restricted in a degree of freedom of selecting a paper strong agent.

This method has a coating process for coating front and back surfaces of base paper for the offset printing paper with a coating mixture containing the paper strong agent by an on-machine size press coater and a drying process for drying the base paper coated with the coating mixture by a dryer in such a manner that drying states of the front and back surfaces of the base paper are controlled so as to be different from each other.
