Abstract:

To provide a method for efficiently producing a polyester fiber used for industrial nets and excellent in strength utilization rate.

There is provided the method for producing the polyester fiber for the industrial nets, including melt-spinning a polyester having 90 mol% or more of whose total repeating units are ethylene terephthalate units and which contains a bi-functional phosphorus compound in an amount of 0.1-1.0 wt.% as phosphorus element, and then drawing the obtained undrawn fiber having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.8-1.0 under conditions of (a) a drawing load factor: a draw ratio of 81-89% based on the maximum draw ratio, (b) a relaxation rate: 0-3%, and (c) a heat set temperature: 150-180C. In addition, it is preferable that the polyester contains a colorant, has a fiber dry-heat shrinkage rate of 15-23%, and has a sum of fiber knot strength-loop strength of not less than 7.7 cN/dtex.
