To provide a method for producing a woven fabric by a fluid jet loom by which a high-grade woven fabric can be produced even when weaving is carried out by using simply sized multifilament as the warp and using a false twist stretch yarn as the weft.

In this method for producing the woven fabric in the fluid jet loom by using the false twist stretch yarn as the weft, interlacing yarn having 10-60 numbers/m of interlacing to which a water-soluble sizing composition is attached in an amount of 0.1-3 wt.% based on the fiber weight is used as the warp and the interlacing retention ratios (%) Y1, Y2 and Y3 in the heald part, the reed part and the woven fabric part of the warp on the loom during weaving satisfy formulas (1), (2) and (3) at the same time: (1) 50%≤Y1≤90%, (2) 10%≤Y2≤40% and (3) Y3≤10% on the loom during weaving.
