Abstract:

To provide a new method of propagating vibration to liquid metal which can be realized on an industrial large scale.

A prescribed magnetic field and a prescribed wave motion are applied to a conductor fluid in such a manner that, provided that the length of the conductor fluid in a direction vertical to a magnetic field applying direction is defined as | (m), δ=(2/σμω)1/2, and λ//=2πB/ω(ρμ)1/2, the conditions of |>δ (1) and λ//>δ (2) (σ: the electric conductivity (S/m) of the conductor fluid, μ: permeability (H/m), ω: the angular frequency (rad/s) of the wave motion to be applied: B: the dimensions (T) of the static magnetic field to be applied, and ρ: the density (kg/m3) of the conductor fluid) are satisfied. Thus, a prescribed vibration is caused within the conductor fluid, and is propagated.
