PURPOSE: To avoid the slackness or overtension due to movement of a flocking machine and prevent the unevenness in pile length or density from occurring by exposing pile yarn fed to the flocking machine to an air stream between a pair of guides, always applying a tension to the feeding side of a pile yarn and storing the pile yarn in a space.
CONSTITUTION: In a flocking machine movable in the two-dimensional direction parallel to the surface of a base fabric stretched in a frame, a cylindrical cavity 27 is provided so as to cover a passage route 22 of pile yarn 16 between an inlet guide 19 on the pile yarn feed side such as a cheese and an outlet guide 20 on the flocking machine side. Outlet ports 25 composed of many gaps are provided on the peripheral surface of a trumpetlike space 28 for storing the pile yarn 16 formed on the side of inflow ports 24 and the inlet guide to construct a tension regulator 23. Air streams 21 directing from the inflow ports 24 to the outlet ports 25 are made to flow with both guides 19 and 20 and a tension to the side of the flocking machine 23 is always applied to the pile yarn 16, which is simultaneously stored in the space 28 to prevent the tension from fluctuating by the movement of the flocking machine.
