Abstract:

PURPOSE: To more efficiently remove NOx from exhaust gas contg. excess oxygen discharged from an automobile engine, especially a diesel engine over a temp. range from a low temp. even under coexistence of SOx without using a reducing agent. such as ammonia.

CONSTITUTION: Exhaust gas contg. excess oxygen as well as NOx and hydrocarbons is brought into contact with a catalyst contg. ammonium type or proton type zeolite in which the molar ratio of SiO2 to Al2O3 is ≥15 and oxide of Mn and other metallic element to remove the NOx in the exhaust gas.
