Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of plate thickness and shape control by shifting a pair of upper and lower work rolls axially in the parting direction in the case of rolling a material with which a shape control pass cannot be taken and largely shifting the work rolls in the case of materials except the above-mentioned material.

CONSTITUTION: In the case of the material with which the shape control pass cannot be taken, the information on said material is fed to a shift controller 10 and a bending controller 11. The shift quantity between passes corresponding to a rolling material 3 is calculated and the upper and lower work rolls 1, 2 are shifted in the parting direction at every pass in the shift controller 10. The shift quantity and bender force of the upper and lower work rolls 1, 2 are determined and the plate crown control is executed by rolling while the rolling load and bender force are adjusted in the bender 11. The large shift quantity and shift direction tor every pass are calculated and the upper and lower work rolls 1, 2 are shifted if the shape control pass can be taken with the rolling material 3.
