CONSTITUTION: In inputting data item, it is inputted from an input section 9, edited to the prescribed specification at a word processor function section 7, and written in a storage section 2 through a buffer memory 5 and a write section 4. When a user directs the analysis of hierarchical structure by ken input, the specification is inputted to a data structure analysis section 6 from the storage section 2 through the reading section 4 and buffer memory 5. The data structure analysis section 6 analyzes the hierarchical structure of the data item area. In short, when an area is contained in the other area, the area is judged to be lower the other area. The analyzed hierarchical information is converted into the information describing the data hierarchical structure and used for input, processing, and output. In this case, not only the format for data item input but the format for output can be made available.
