Abstract:
To simplify the reverse drive of an automobile having a trailer for a driver, and to improve backward travel irrespective of a predetermined reference isoclinal trajectory.
In a method for supporting a driver of an automobile in the backward travel of a trailer, the automobile has an electronic-controlled servo-type steering device 1 having a steering wheel 2 for giving a steering wheel angle δSas a reference amount for a desired steering angle δFmto at least one of steerable wheels 5a, 5b. During the backward travel, the steering angle δFmto at least one of the steerable wheels 5a, 5b is continuously controlled from the steering wheel angle δSactually given as the reference signal considering a model to trailer drive, and adjusted irrespective of the driver by the steering device 1.
