PURPOSE: To markedly enhance the throughdryability of paper produced from papermaking fibers under condition dewatered, but wet, by subjecting an aq. suspension of fibers at high consistency to elevated temp. with sufficient working of the fibers.
CONSTITUTION: A method of tissue making is constituted by a step forming an aq. suspension consisted of papermaking fibers having a concn. of more than about 20%, a step passing the prescribed aq. suspension at ≥75°F through a shaft grinding machine inputing power of about 1 horsepower/day per dried fibers of 1 ton and the prescribed step increasing TD index of the prescribed fibers of more than about 25%, a step supplying the prescribed fibers via a tissue making head box to form wet-web, and a step drying the prescribed web to form dry tissue.
