Abstract:
To provide a treatment method by which soil polluted with heavy metals and/or cyanides can stably and reliably and at the same time economically be treated.
This method for treating polluted soil comprises a first process of mixing an iron salt such as ferrous chloride or a copper salt such as copper sulfate, which are water-soluble and easy and economical to get, with the soil polluted with heavy metals and/or cyanides, preferably mixing such a salt in an aqueous solution state and a second process of heating the soil treated through the first process at preferably 200°C or higher temperature. Consequently, the heavy metals and/or cyanides can be converted into stable and insoluble substances.
