To provide a method for weaving a high quality plain base fabric free from a reed mark and little having fuzzes with an air jet loom in good production efficiency in a state little stopping the loom due to warps.
This method for weaving the plain base fabric from polyhexamethylene adipamide yarns with an air jet loom is characterized by weaving the yarns at a yarn occupation index of 115 to 250 in a reed, at a loom rotation speed of 300 to 800 rpm, at a sub-nozzle distance of 2.5 to 10 cm, and in a state alternately disposing empty dents. The yarn occupation index=0.106×n×√(D)/(P-T), wherein n is the number of yarns pulled in each dent; D is the fineness (dtex) of the polyhexamethylene adipamide yarn; P is a dent pitch (cm); T is a dent thickness (cm).
