To provide a control method capable of reducing the number of weft insertion lines to the utmost in a towel loom where pile weaving and border weaving are conducted.
The method for weft-insertion control in a towel loom is such that: in the towel loom where pile weaving and border weaving are conducted by controlling weft-insertion lines for the border weaving and weft-insertion lines for the pile weaving in accordance with weft-inserting conditions set correspondingly to these lines the border weaving is conducted in two or more weft-insertion lines; for border weaving-exclusive weft-insertion lines whose number is one or more and less than the total lines among the two or more weft-insertion lines, weft-inserting conditions corresponding to the border weaving are set for control use; while, for the other weft-insertion lines, weft-inserting conditions corresponding to both the pile weaving and the border weaving are set for control use; and for the weft-insertion lines other than the border weaving-exclusive ones, weft insertion is conducted through selecting those corresponding to the kind of weaving from among the two weft-inserting conditions.
