Abstract:
In a method for clamping a weft thread (3) in a jet loom in which the thread is blown into a weaving region using transporting fluid through main blast nozzle(s) (1) with a mixing tube (2), where the thread is temporarily clamped during passage through the nozzle and tube using a movable clamping member, moved by an actuator outside the tube between thread clamping and release (non-clamping) positions, the clamping force of the member in clamping position is magnetically reinforced. Independent claims are included for: (1) a corresponding clamping device for carrying out the process, having at least one retaining magnet (11) for magnetically reinforcing the clamping force of the clamping member in the clamping position; and (2) a corresponding jet loom incorporating the clamping device.
