Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an MHD power generating device having little passage loss and leakage magnetic field when high magnetic field is applied.
CONSTITUTION: A disk type power generating passage 3 is arranged in the magnetic field generated between a pair of superconducting magnets 4a, 4b of an MHD power generating device, an ionized high-temperature fluid 1 is fed in the passage 3 at a high speed, and an external load is connected between multiple electrodes 5 provided on a passage wall. A magnetic substance 10 covering the outer periphery and the side face of a pair of superconducting magnets 4a, 4b is provided.
