Abstract:

To provide a micropump for transporting a fluid in capillary path of a micro fluid device, in which no piping from outside nor connection is required with good quantitativeness, wide selection range for material, and possibility for parallel multiple driving, and which is easily manufactured at a low cost.

A micro fluid device 1 comprises capillary paths (18a, 18b, 18c, 5, and 12), a capillary cylinder 13a whose one end is connected to the middle of the path, and a micropump mechanism which is attached to the cylinder 13a and comprises a magnetic fluid. The amount of the magnetic fluid is sufficient to stop the cross section of the cylinder 13a. The magnetic fluid of the micro fluid device 1 is affected by a magnetic field so that the magnetic field is reciprocated in the cylinder 13a, thus transporting a fluid to be controlled in the path.
