To selectively heat a lower layer portion of an agglomerate charged into a drying furnace using a microwave.
A microwave dryer is provided at a hot-air type drying furnace that makes hot air blast an object to be dried when the object to be dried is transported by a conveyer to thereby reduce moisture contained in the object to be dried, and has a microwave oscillator that oscillates a microwave used for drying the object to be dried, and a plurality of slit antennas that are provided immediately above the conveyer, have a plurality of openings on an upper face of a waveguide for guiding the microwave, and irradiate the object to be dried with the microwaves from each of the plurality of openings, and the plurality of slit antennas are arranged in a transportation direction of the object to be dried so that the openings of the plurality of slit antennas cover the whole in a width direction of the drying furnace.
