Abstract:

PURPOSE: To attain size reduction, to realize convenient handling, reducing interference with other components and widen a transmission frequency band, and to use the microwave optical probe for various engines by composing a microwave transmission line of only a coaxial line.

CONSTITUTION: The combustion light in a combustion chamber CH is photodetected by a diode 11 through an insulator 8 and transmitted light 19 and converted into an electric signal, which is transmitted through a shield wire connected to a connector BC. A microwave oscillated by a microwave oscillator is transmitted through a coaxial cable connected to a connector CC, bent by 90° through a coupling part, and radiated from a dipole antenna 10 through a coaxial line part 9. This radiated microwave is absorbed (during resonance) and reflected by the chamber CH and received by an antenna 10, and the received wave is transmitted in the opposite direction, passed through a transmission and reception separator, and converted by a microwave detector into an electric signal.
