PURPOSE: To obtain the subject solvent, comprising a specific dichlorofluoroethane, a petroleum fraction and esters or terpenes, capable of readily regulating the drying time, having low corrosiveness for plastics and useful for hand wiping suitable for removing oils and fats and the plastics sticking to electronic parts, etc.

CONSTITUTION: This solvent comprises (A) 40-99wt.% 1,1-dichloro-1-fluoroethane, (B) 59-1wt.% petroleum fraction having 100-300V boiling point (e.g. industrial gasoline No.2, ligroin, light solvent naphtha, kerosene or light oil) and (C) 0.01-10wt.% esters (e.g. methyl acetate or ethyl acetate) or terpenes (e.g. dipentene or alloocimene). The solvent is used for various methods such as dip washing, vapor cleaning or ultrasonic cleaning in addition to hand wiping cleaning.
