To provide a mobile communication terminal which moves a cursor to the start/end of display data with few key operation and shortens the time of message generation and display data perusal.

The screen state set at the time of selecting 'jump to the start' from menu items is shown by a picture 205. When a mode set key 309 is depressed to settle this state, the head of a message is moved to the upper left end part of a display part 22, and a cursor for editing is moved to the first character of the message (screen 207). Consequently, a user can edit the message from the head of the data.
