PURPOSE: To simply obtain a reed for various ondule cloths by taking out dents from normal reeds at a prescribed interval, superposing the plural reeds side by side and forming a meandered surface in the cloth fell.

CONSTITUTION: Plural reeds (1a), (1b) and (1c) are superposed side by side. In the process, dents (2a) are removed at a prescribed interval (L) in the first reed (1a) to form windows (3a) of the cut off dents at a prescribed interval (l). Dents (2b) in the intermediate part except both sides of dent rows (2b) in the second reed (1b) are removed within the aforementioned range of the formed windows (3a) of the cut off dents. Windows (3'b) of cut off dents at the interval between the residual dent rows (2b) in agreement with the aforementioned prescribed interval (l) are simultaneously formed. Furthermore, other dents (2c) except the dent rows (2c) of the third reed (1c) corresponding to the range of the above-mentioned windows (3b) of the cut off dents are removed to form windows (3'c) of the cut off dents. The aforementioned reeds (1a), (1b) and (1c) are then superposed side by side to provide a state in which the respective dent rows (2a), (2b) and (2c) are obliquely shifted and arranged. Thereby, a meandered surface is formed in the cloth fell in weaving to carry out ondule picking of weft yarns.
